Isaiah sits there, sleeping, with his head on his desk in [4, 2nd]

Isaiah: "*snore*"

SND-3101 - Cellphone rings politely

Isaiah: "*mumblemumblemumble*"

Isaiah cancels the call IN HIS SLEEP (only his arm moves)

SND-3102 - Beep
SND-3101 - STOP

SND-3103 - "Cellphone Rings blatantly

Isaiah: "*mumbleMUMBLEmumble*"

Isaiah cancels the call IN HIS SLEEP (only his arm moves)

SND-3105 - Cellphone Rings violently

Isaiah jerks awake

Isaiah: "Jesus! This better be important!"

Isaiah picks up Isaiah's phone.

SND-3105 - STOP
PRE-3101 - Guard: "Dr. Isaiah? There's police officers at the gate, and they've got a search warrant! What shall we do?"

Isaiah shakes his head, running his hands through his fur

Isaiah: "You didn't let them in yet, did you?"

PRE-3102 - Guard: "Of course not. They are pretty insistent though."

Isaiah: "Nobody gets in here without my permission, warrant or not, is that clear?"

PRE-3103 - Guard: "Crystal clear, Sir."

Isaiah: "Prepare to put the building in lockdown. Next time they come knocking won't be nearly so friendly. That's all for now. I'll make sure our fosterlings are safe."

SND-3106 - Hangup

Isaiah throws Isaiah's phone behind him

SND-3108 - Office Door Opens

Greg comes in from [7] carrying a tray with a coffee pot and a cup

Greg: "Good morning, Doctor! Here is your 7 o'clock coffee, as always!"

Greg sets the tray with a coffee pot and a cup down on the desk

Isaiah: "You're an angel, Greg! That's exactly what I need now."

Isaiah downs a cup of coffee in one go. He's a pro.

Isaiah: "Aah. That was a really short night, and more troubles lie ahead."

Greg: "At least YOU didn't get kidnapped."

Isaiah: "Try to look at it this way: God presented you with a challenge, and you met it with ease! You turned the tables against your own kidnapper. And brought her back into our gentle care, like a shepherd returning a lost sheep to the flock - beautiful, just beautiful."

Greg: "Thank you, Dr. Isaiah. That means a lot to me."

Isaiah (sighs deeply): "Unfortunately, I just got a call from the front desk. It seems that someone called the police on us."

Greg: "That's fine. We have nothing to hide!"

Isaiah: "I wish it was that easy. But the messengers of the anti-Christ are out there, spreading lies about us, trying to sabotage our mission! They know the rapture is near, and they'll do everything to stop us! God knows what the police thinks we're doing. They are not impartial, Greg. They are merely the instrument of whoever wields the highest power."

SND-3109 - Phone ringing

Isaiah (searching): "Where in god's name ..."

Isaiah rummages through the papers on the desk, sending them flying all over the place

Isaiah: "Oh, there."

SND-3109 - STOP

Isaiah picks up Isaiah's phone from the floor

Isaiah: "Yes? I know. Stand your ground. Make sure all doors are locked. Don't talk to them. That's all."

Isaiah ends the call

Greg: "That's all? Do you think if we ignore them long enough, they'll get bored and leave?"

Isaiah: "*chuckles* No, of course not. But there is no need to be concerned. I've been preparing for this day for a long time."

Greg: "Preparing ... for the police to raid your clinic?"

Isaiah stands up, and steps down from his desk down to the first level, and stands next to Greg

Isaiah puts one arm around Greg, and pulls him close in a reassuring, fatherly gesture

Isaiah: "Remember what the prophet Daniel told us: 'One time, the great prince who protects your people, will arise. There will be a time of distress such as has not happened from the beginning of nations until then. But at that time your people will be delivered. Multitudes who sleep in the dust of the earth will awake: some to everlasting life, others to shame and everlasting contempt.'"

Greg (whispering in shock): "The end times?"

Isaiah: "All these lost souls that we have saved, all the work we've done here to teach the word of God - this is what counts when we must appear before the Savior's judgment, so that each of us may receive what is due for us. Nothing else."

Isaiah lets go of Greg, and proceeds to walk back to his desk (keep talking!)

Isaiah: "Our enemies have made their judgement about us a long time ago, and nothing will be able to change their minds. From now on it's just a game. They know what to expect from us, and we know what to expect from them. We are going to play this game with them, and this will give us all the time we need to prepare for the rapture."

Greg: "*GASPS INN SHOCK* Rapture ..."

Isaiah sits down at his desk

SND-3110 - Police sirens

Jyanon: ON

Isaiah: "And so begins act 2 of this play. Watch this, Greg: 'This is the police. We have surrounded the building ...'"

SND-3111 - Megaphone being turned on.

Megaphone: "This is the police! We have surrounded the building! You have five minutes to cooperate, or we will storm the building!"

Isaiah: "There!"

Isaiah picks up Isaiah's phone and dials

Isaiah: "Hello? I'm not sure this is the right number, but there is a police officer standing outside my window yelling at me with a loudspeaker. Can you put me through? The Lift-You-Up Rehab Center. Thank you. Yes, I'll wait."

SND-3112 - Megaphone Rings

Megaphone: "Hello?"

Isaiah: "Good Morning, Officer. My Name is Dr. Isaiah, and I would like to clarify a few things which might change your evaluation of the situation."

Megaphone: "All right, I'm all ears."

Isaiah: "Inside this building there are 150 innocent people, and one giant bomb. If anybody attempts to enter without my permission, I'm going to push that little red button, and everybody, including you and me, is going to die. And unlike YOU, I will be going to heaven. It's in your hands now."

Megaphone: "It doesn't have to end this way! Can we please talk before anything gets blown up? Maybe we can come to an agreement that makes both of us happy."

Isaiah: "I'm sure we can! By the way, you've still got the loudspeaker on. Everyone can hear what you're saying."

Megaphone: "D'uh! Sorry!"

SND-3113 - Loudspeaker being turned off

Isaiah: "So you want to negotiate? Fine. What can you offer me?"

Telephone: "Release the hostages, and nobody gets hurt."

Isaiah: "A good start. Counter-offer: One Million Euros for each hostage released, and a fully fueled helicopter on my lawn."

Telephone: "Do you want fries with that?"

Isaiah: "You heard my demands, Officer. I'll give you an hour to think about it, and if I'm not holding cash in my hands by then, you are going to regret making that joke. Goodbye."

Isaiah ends the call.

SND-3114 - Hangup

Greg (scared): "There isn't a bomb, is there?"

Isaiah: "Of course not. And there is nobody here who can fly a helicopter either. I'm just doing what is expected from me. It's all part of the game. But now it's time to get prepared."

Greg (scared): "*gulps* Of course. For the rapture. The final, and greatest day of our lives!"

Isaiah: "Assemble everyone in the chapel. All the patients, all the staff. And bring the altar wine up to my office. I shall give it my ... special blessing. Today is the day we shall be rewarded for our devotion to the Lord!"
