Act 2, Scene 3: Till Death do us Part

• Setting: The marketplace of Ironforge at noon. The sun is shining, colors are happy and bright. Between [7] and [3] the background shows houses, a fountain - at a distance, signaling a larger open space. The right side shows the front of an official building in Greek style, bright sandstone with columns. There is a 3 meter wide pedestal on the second level, that will act like a stage for the wedding. The area is festively decorated, flowers and ribbons everywhere. A large crowd of spectators has gathered left of the pedestal (in the middle of the stage), nobody is actually in front of the pedestal. One of the spectators in the last row is holding his horse by its reins at 2nd rail [7].

Quicksilver: "Goldeneyes! Wake up honey! Wake up!"

Goldeneyes (sleepy): "Whh… what? Quicksilver? What is it? *yaaaaaaawn*"

Quicksilver: "I have to leave."

Goldeneyes (sleepy): "Now? In the middle of the night?"

Quicksilver: "Someone blew the whistle. The keepers are after me. Greenfield is trying to stall them, but we don't have much time."

Goldeneyes (suddenly awake): "Please tell me that's a joke."

Quicksilver: "I wish it were."

Goldeneyes: (sobs): "Oh no! OH NO! I told you not to deal with the rebels, but … but you - you goddamn stubborn bastard … (starts crying)"

Quicksilver: "Shhhhh! Don't cry."

Goldeneyes (crying): "But when they get you, they will kill you!"

Quicksilver: "I won't let that happen, I promise. But I really have to go now."

Goldeneyes: "Go where?"

Quicksilver: "Camp Freedom. The secret base of the rebel underground."

Goldeneyes: "You are JOINING them?"

Quicksilver: "It's now or never."

Goldeneyes: "But I love you! You can't just leave me like that!"

Quicksilver: "I love you, too! But right now it's my only chance to survive. And I'll be back, I promise."

Goldeneyes: "What about Ironforge? Who is going to run the city while you're away?"

Quicksilver: "You are the princess! Have you forgotten that?"

Goldeneyes: "I can't do this without you!"

Quicksilver: "Oh yes, you can. You know a lot more about ruling this city than anybody else. And it will only be for a short time. Stormrunner has an excellent plan. You will see. The tyranny of the Keepers will be over very soon."

Greenfield (muffled): "I'm sorry, but these are the Lord's and the Lady's private rooms. I can not let you enter without permission!"

Ironwill (muffled): "I'm sorry, too, but your permission is irrelevant!"

shock rod sound

Greenfield. "HABAAAARGLLLLLMN"

tries to open, but it's locked

Ironwill (muffled): "Oh for the gods' sake. Get me that door open!"

Quicksilver: "Damn. We've spent too much time talking. I have to leave."

opens window

Goldeneyes: "Through the window?"

Quicksilver: "There's no other way now. I love you, Goldeneyes. See you after the revolution!"

Goldeneyes: "Quicksilver!"

door being kicked in

Goldeneyes: "*shrieeeeeeks*"

Ironwill: "Alright, where is he? TALK TO ME, WOMAN!"

Goldeneyes: "I don't know what you are talking about!"

Ironwill: "The window …"

window opens

Ironwill: "Damn, there he goes! Why in the gods' name is nobody down there? Don't stare at me like that! Run! Get him!"

Potami and Raindancer enter from [7]

MUS-2301 - Ironforge

Raindancer: "There we are. The marketplace. If there's a place to find friends of the Institute, then it's here."

Potami: "So many people, and everyone is wearing their finest for the big ceremony!"

Raindancer: "Look around for anybody wearing the Tree of Knowledge."

Potami: "I wonder what kind of dress Lady Goldeneyes is going to wear!"

Raindancer: "Forget the wedding! We must find Longleaf first!"

Potami: "But I've never seen a royal wedding before in my life! How about you stay here and keep searching, and I watch the ceremony? I'm sure it won't take long!"

Raindancer (sighs): "It's not like I'll be able to stop you anyway, right?"

Potami (laughs): "Damn straight! I'll be in the front. Be safe!"

Potami gives Raindancer a quick kiss on the cheek

Raindancer: "Be safe? Why wouldn't I? Oh, whatever."

Potami storms forward into the mass of spectators like a bowling ball going in for a strike.

Potami pushes all the way through until she's in the first row

Raindancer looks around for signs of the Institute.

Greenfield emerges on the middle of the pedestal.

Greenfield: "Hear ye, hear ye! Thank you very much to all for your presence and affection on this day, when Sir Whisperwind, the city’s wealthiest entrepreneur and long time consultant to our house, will receive the hand of our beloved Lady Goldeneyes, Princess of Ironforge."

Everyone applauds as Goldeneyes and Whisperwind appear on stage

Whisperwind: "My dearest Goldeneyes. Many may believe that it was a fairytale the way we came together. And of course they are right. It is always a fairytale the way two people come together and decide to share life. Yes indeed you are the Princess of Ironforge, but this cannot separate you from which you also represent. You are built by your heritage and your role, which makes you the person you are today. Ripe and ready for the tasks you have chosen in your life, we see you as a revelation of sincerity and diligence. And during the time we have known each other I have constantly been thinking of this: Are we really meant for each other, then fate will surely arrange it all to the best."

Greenfield: "The promises made today and the ties that are bound here will greatly strengthen your union; they will cross the years and lives of each soul's growth. Do you still seek to enter this ceremony?"

Goldeneyes and Whisperwind: "Yes, we seek to enter."

Greenfield: "Whisperwind, will you cause her pain?"

Whisperwind: "I may."

Greenfield: "Is that your intent?"

Whisperwind: "No."

Greenfield: "Goldeneyes, will you cause him pain?"

Goldeneyes: "I may."

Greenfield: "Is that your intent?"

Goldeneyes: "No."

Greenfield: "Will both of you share each other's pain and seek to ease it?"

Goldeneyes and Whisperwind: "Yes, we will."

Greenfield: "Above you are the stars, below you are the stones. As time passes, remember: Like the stone your love should be firm, like the stars your love should be constant. Let the strength of your wills bind you together. You may now kiss."

Greenfield stands back

Potami steps forward and stands in front of the pedestal, and she suddenly carries a gun.

EVERYTHING TURNS INTO SLOW MOTION

Potami points her gun at Goldeneyes

Raindancer: "POTAMI! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!"

Raindancer sprints towards Potami

Potami cocks her gun

SND-2307 - SCHICK-SCHICK

Potami: "This one is for my mother!"

Potami shoots, the recoil kicking her backwards hard

SND-2308- BBBAAANNNNGGG!

The audience panics in slow motion, running towards [7], bumping into Raindancer who tries to reach Potami

Goldeneyes gets hit in the left arm. (blood, blood, BLOOD!)

Greenfield tackles Goldeneyes to get her out of harm's way

Whisperwind jumps for cover in the other direction

Raindancer: "POTAMI! NO! YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING! AAAAAAH!"

Potami reloads, and takes aim again

Raindancer tackles her

Potami shoots again - missing

SND-2309 - BBBAAANNNNGGG! SHATTER!

One of the flower pots shatters

Potami and Raindancer disappear from view

The audience runs off / disappears

SLOW MOTION ENDS

Greenfield: "Guards! Why are there no guards?"

Whisperwind: "GET AFTER THEM, YOU FOOLS!"

Potami and Raindancer re-emerge

Potami: "I told you not to come after me! Now you've ruined everything!"

Raindancer: "What the fuck did you just do?"

Potami: "I made history!"

Potami runs towards [7]

Raindancer: "What? Are you fucking crazy? Wait!"

Raindancer runs after her at a distance

Shoot OVER 9000 bolts from [1] to hit the fleeing couple

SND-2311 - Arrows

Raindancer gets hit by a bolt in his right arm

SND-2312 - Arrow Hit

Raindancer: "AAAAAARGH!"

Raindancer falls down

Whisperwind: "THE ASSASSINS ARE FLEEING! SEIZE THEM!"

Potami turns around

Potami: "Shit, shit, SHIT!"

Potami runs back, and picks up Raindancer

Two guards come running in from [1] carrying crossbows

Potami runs as fast as she can, with Raindancer on her back

The guards aim, and shoot, but both miss.

Potami: "Hold on, it's going to be a bumpy ride!"

Potami jumps on top of the horse

The horse rears up

The horse gallops away

The guards run after them
