Eurofurence 22 Pawpet Show - Goldeneyes - Act 1

Act 1, Scene 2: A Wild Ride

Setting: Inside of the back of a wild west style covered wagon driving through the forest in the middle of the night at breakneck speed. Lots of rumbling and shaking. If technically possible, back projection of the shadows of trees whizzing by. Wagon is pulled by horses or maybe some exotic mutated riding animals. The students are bound and gagged, sitting inside the wagon. There is a kidnapper watching over them. Another one is steering the horses outside. A dim light hangs inside the cart, swaying around, casting spooky shadows, so that the guard can see the bound students at all time. Maybe another dim light outside / near the driver's seat, so we can see the kidnappers at least a little bit. Lights must be made in a way that they project as little light as possible onto the actual backdrop of the scene. So characters appear mostly backlit or lit from above. Plus the light inside the wagon sways, implying a rough road. Nettlebush, the guard, is inside the wagon, watching over the tied up hostages. Very tired, almost asleep. Ivydash, the driver, sits on the driver's seat, holding a whip and reins.

Frontprops: wagon wheels [5-2] (Hai, Lynard), wagon canopy [5-2]

SFX: 2x bright LIGHTS inside the wagon (Kayjay), Fog machine and ventilator and flying leaves (Luno?)

Lighting: Night, split Scene: inside (warm) and outside (cold), support inscene lighting, don't overlight.

%ACT% Everyone shakes, as if the wagon is moving on an uneven rocky path. Sequence: Ivy > Students 1-4 > Potami > Rainy > Nettlebush.

Ivydash: "Nettie? Nettie! Hey, moron!"

Nettlebush (half asleep): "*mumblemumblemumble*"

Ivydash: "NETTLEBUSH! Wake up and stay awake, stupid! Someone needs to watch over the hostages!"

%ACT% Nettie yawns and stretches

Nettlebush: "Yeah, yeah, yeah. Don't worry, I've got everything under control. The brats are all tied up, no one's going anywhere!"

Ivydash: "I should hope so! If we lose 'em they are gonna cut off your ears!"

Nettlebush: "All in the name of the Opposition."

%ACT% Nettlebush yawns

Nettlebush: "Whadda ya think they're gonna do with 'em, anyway?"

Ivydash: "Don't know, don't care. I'm not in it for the politics, just the money. The Institute, the Opposition, or them fucking Keepers of the Light … Whoever wants to pay us. No questions asked!"

Nettlebush: "You think they're gonna kill 'em?"

Ivydash: "Naah, then we wouldn't be here hauling them through them fuckin' forests!"

Nettlebush: "Right, right. Say, um… Ivy?"

Ivydash (exasperated): "Wha-a-a-a-a-at?"

Nettlebush: "Uh…. Would ya mind pulling over?"

Ivydash: "Why?"

Nettlebush: "I uh…. I gotta pee."

Ivydash: "Wha…? Are you serious? Oh for the love of … No! They said we mustn’t stop, no matter what happens, so ya better hold it!"

Nettlebush: "But I really have to go!"

Ivydash: "Look, we don't know if there's anyone following us, and I don't wanna be the one who finds out! You should have gone before the raid!"

Nettlebush (desperate): "I did go before! Come on, we've been racing full-speed for hours, and I always have to go when I'm nervous!"

Ivydash: "Just get your shit together!"

Nettlebush: "I'm trying!"

Ivydash (speaking slowly and directly): "TRY … HARDER …!"

%ACT% Nettlebush whimpers, and begins to climb out of the wagon, onto the driver's seat "behind" Ivydash, continuing to argue with each other, distracted.

%ACT% Nettlebush pushes, pokes, kick and prods Ivydash while half way climbing over him.

Ivydash: "Hey … what the? … What the hell are you doing? ARGH!"

Nettlebush (rather proudly): "I've gotta do what a man's gotta do …"

%SND% SND-1201 - Open Zipper

%ACT% Nettlebush stands up, facing away from the audience

%MIX% Tani: ON

%MIX% Eisfuchs: ON

Ivydash: "Seriously? You're going to pee off the side of a moving wagon?"

Nettlebush: "What do you want me to do, wet my pants? Now let me do my business!"

Ivydash (facepalms): "I don't fucking believe this…"

%MUS% MUS-1202 STOP

%ACT% Potami chews on her gag.

Potami: "Gnaw! Gnaw! Gnaw! Mmrmmrmmrmrmmr!"

%ACT% Raindancer looks at her

Raindancer: "¡¿?!"

%ACT% Potami chews her gag in half, and spits it out!

Potami (softly): "Blech! That thing tastes like my mothers old socks! Hey, you! Raindancer! Turn around so I can chew through your ropes! Quick!"

Raindancer (affirmative): "Mhm!"

%ACT% Raindancer turns around a bit.

%ACT% Potami noisily gnaws through his bonds.

Ivydash: "*sighs* Are you done yet? Sit down!"

Nettlebush: "Hey, Um… I can't pee if you're watching me!"

Ivydash: "This is my fault? You were the one that decided to stand right there to pee!"

Nettlebush: "Well you were the one that wouldn't stop the wagon!"

%ACT% Potami manages to unbind Raindancer

Potami: "There! You're free!"

%ACT% Raindancer removes his gag

Raindancer: "Thanks! Wow, you've got some sharp teeth!"

Potami: "I hate being hog-tied!"

Raindancer: "Um… So should I ask you why you know how your mom's socks taste?"

Potami: "No, you should untie my paws! Quick, before that moron comes back!"

%ACT% Raindancer starts unbinding Potami

%SND% SND-1202 - Tinkle!

Nettlebush: "Ahhhh …"

Ivydash: "Oh by the holy mountain, that's disgusting. Try not to hit the canopy, you idiot!"

%ACT% Pothole! Everyone shakes!

Nettlebush: "Watch the bloody road!"

Ivydash laughing): "Oops! Was that a pothole? My bad. Oh, look! There's another one!"

%ACT% Pothole! Everyone shakes!

Nettlebush: "ARGH!"

Ivydash: "And aaaanother one! Who knew there were so many in this road all of a sudden?"

%ACT% Pothole! Everyone shakes!

Nettlebush: "I'm gonna kill ya! I swear, as soon as we're back in Ironforge, I'm gonna kill ya!"

%ACT% Potami moves her arms! They are free!

%ACT% The other students notice the two are now free, and start wiggling

%SND% PRE-1201 - Students: "Hmmm!! Hmmmmmm!!! Hmmmmm!"

Potami: "Raindancer! Quick! Where did they put my bag?"

Raindancer: "We need to free the others!"

%ACT% Potami frantically searches the inside of the wagon

Potami: "Yeah but I need my bag … this is important … Whew! There it is! Got it!"

Nettlebush: "Ahhhh! Alright, I feel so much better, no thanks to you and your driving!"

Ivydash: "Congratulations, achievement unlocked. Now get yer bloody ass back in there and do your fucking job."

%ACT% Nettlebush turns around and climbs back in.

Raindancer: "Quick, he's coming!"

Potami: "Shit! We're out of time! We have to jump!"

Raindancer: "WHAT? But what about the others?"

Potami: "No time! I said JUMP!"

%ACT% Potami grabs Raindancer and throws him overboard

Raindancer: "AAAAARGH!"

Nettlebush: "Hey, STOP!"

Raindancer (off): "Argh! Ouch! Uhg! Arrrrgh! Hrgnnn! Hmbl!"

%SND% SND-1207 - Body Tumbling

%ACT% Potami turns around

Potami: "Oink oink, motherfucker!"

%ACT% Potami jumps off

%SND% SND-1208 - Body Tumbling

Potami (off): "Argh! Ouch! Uhg! Arrrrgh! Hrgnnn! Hmbl!"

Nettlebush: "STOP THE WAGON! STOP…! THE…! WAGON!"

Ivydash: "What the fuck is goin' on back there?"

%MIX% Tani: OFF

%MIX% Eisfuchs: OFF

Nettlebush: "Two of them damn brats just jumped ship! We gotta go after them!"

Ivydash: "No fucking way! It's the Dark Woods, remember? They don't have a LIGHT. Those two aren't going to get far before the beasts will make a quick snack of 'em."

Nettlebush: "It wasn't my fault, I swear!"

Ivydash: "Of course it's your fault! If you had been watching them they wouldn't have gotten free! *huffs* No fucking way I'm gonna waste more precious time just 'cause you're literally too stupid to pee!"

Nettlebush: "But …"

Ivydash: "No buts! We're already running late, and we still have plenty of brats left. Now go and check on the rest. We don't wanna lose another one. And if they do cut our pay it's coming out of your share!"

Nettlebush: "Okay … okay … Fucktard!"
